Our architectural, interior and garden design services offer a concept to completion involvement. We are flexible and communicative in the way we work and recognise that each home, plot and brief is unique.

About us
We are a small team and work closely with our clients to understand, interpret and enhance their ideas. We believe the design process should be collaborative and enjoyable, with the end result having a positive impact on the people involved, and the surroundings.
We understand the key to a successful project is engaging and directing, skilled and reliable craftsmen. We work with a wide range of specialist contractors and suppliers.
Our Story
After gaining extensive experience in their own fields, Fred and Sam formed Temple + Temple in 2021 to offer a comprehensive design service where interiors and exteriors go hand in hand.
Fred is a chartered architect with over 20 years experience across a range of sectors, from masterplanning and commercial schemes to one off, private residential homes. He has a keen interest in working with existing buildings and drawing out the best qualities and opportunities that each property presents.
“Fred excels at coordinating and managing complex building projects with a proactive and creative approach.”
Sam is a garden designer who is passionate about plants, sustainability and the environment. She trained at The English Gardening School before establishing Really Nice Gardens in 2011.
After re-locating to the South West and teaming up with Fred, her design interests have developed to include a love of fabrics and finishes. Sam still works on dedicated garden design projects alongside her work for Temple + Temple.
“Sam’s work is characterised by a relaxed, eclectic style, calm personality and ability to understand and translate the brief.”
Together they cover all aspects of a project, from architecture and interior design to garden planning and planting schemes, allowing them to deliver high quality homes that are responsive and tailored to their clients’ brief.

FAQs
What kind of projects do you undertake?
The majority of our work is transformative residential refurbishment involving restoration, conservation, renovation and remodelling of existing buildings, landscapes and gardens. We have experience with listed buildings and are happy to take on new build and commercial projects.
What services do you provide?
We offer full services throughout the design and construction phases including architectural design, interior design, landscape and garden design and project management. We are happy to provide just one, or any number of these services, as requested.
Where do you work?
We currently work in London, Oxfordshire, Bath and the surrounding counties. We are based in Wiltshire and consider projects throughout the UK.
How much do your projects cost to build?
We love working on a variety of different projects with build costs typically ranging from £100k – £2 million. We can advise on realistic strategies to get the most out of your budget but the right budget for your project will depend on the scope of work, the materials, and labour requirements, amongst many other factors.
What do you charge?
If the brief and budget are well defined, our fees can be provided at the start of a project. If this isn’t the case, we work on a time charge basis for the initial feasibility/concept stages until the build cost, size and complexity of the project can be better estimated. Our fees are charged either as a percentage of the contract build cost, or lump sum fixed fees by work stage and will be detailed in our appointment document with you.
What are the likely timescales of a project?
Every project is unique, and it really depends on the nature, size and complexity of the project and the time it takes to makes decisions, amongst other things. Open and transparent communication is hugely important throughout the process. After our initial meeting, a broad timeframe can be discussed and outlined.
